TERRORIST ACT

2009

Bypassing the train stations in London, it’s impossible not to realize the absence of trash cans, what makes these public places extremely dirty. Since some train stations (especially those next to “foreigner” neighbourhoods) have been a scenario of some attacks, and over the past few years the fear of bombs and terrorist attacks has been so unsettling that the people in London would rather live with all the dirt than have all the bins around.

Playing with imaginary elements (the station, a foreign one, the suspect attitude of leaning close to the bin, the crumbled paper, the “bomb”) I made little paper balls into conceptual bombs, scattered around the very few trash bins in the surroundings of many stations - from Camden Town to Charing Cross.
